About this artwork
This tranquil painting depicts a surreal, abstract seascape. A green-blue sea with a coastline in shades of orange, yellow, and violet. I painted this mysterious landscape freely, based on my own feelings. The result evoked associations with the fantasy novel of the same name by Stanislav Lem. "Solaris" is about humanity's encounter with extraterrestrial life—but also with itself.
The painting was exhibited in solo exhibitions in Göttingen and Bad… Hersfeld in 2023. The sides of the painting are painted, allowing it to be hung without a frame. The painting is signed on the front and back and is ready to hang. The surface has a protective UV-protected varnish. I offer to paint a painting in a similar style and in the desired format as a commissioned work.

Peter Stahr works as a painter and digital artist with a background in painting, media art, and web design, having completed his art studies in Braunschweig. He prefers acrylic and mixed media on large canvases, combining pigments, dispersions, earths, and other materials to create complex, profound works that oscillate between abstraction and representation. His abstract seascapes convey longing, inner peace, wanderlust, and hope, inviting the viewer on emotional journeys of discovery to places of personal longing. In Stahr's works, reality and imagination merge into a powerful visual language that extends far beyond the visible. His compositions are not mere depictions, but transformations of reality; an invitation to perceive the world with new eyes in all its complexity and to embark on a sensual journey between reality and vision.
