About this artwork
This impressionistic painting from the "Deep Waters" series depicts a pond or river landscape shrouded in morning mist. The water is painted with numerous thin layers of green, red, orange, and blue. The branches with pink blossoms that hang into the picture, and some of the water's surface, are enhanced with textured details. All of this combines to give the painting a great sense of depth and a mysterious, mystical atmosphere. It invites the viewer… on a dreamlike journey.
The painting was exhibited in solo shows in Göttingen and Bad Hersfeld in 2023 and at the ARTe art fair in Konstanz in 2024. It has a glazed, shadow-gap wooden frame. The sides of the painting are also painted, so it can be hung without a frame. The painting is signed on the front and back and ready to hang. The surface of the painting is finished with a UV-protective varnish.
Peter Stahr works as a painter and digital artist with a background in painting, media art, and web design, having completed his art studies in Braunschweig. He prefers acrylic and mixed media on large canvases, combining pigments, dispersions, earths, and other materials to create complex, profound works that oscillate between abstraction and representation. His abstract seascapes convey longing, inner peace, wanderlust, and hope, inviting the viewer on emotional journeys of discovery to places of personal longing. In Stahr's works, reality and imagination merge into a powerful visual language that extends far beyond the visible. His compositions are not mere depictions, but transformations of reality; an invitation to perceive the world with new eyes in all its complexity and to embark on a sensual journey between reality and vision.
