About this artwork
I was exploring Kassel on one my swalkeling trips exploring the city and looking for my zine exhibited in the Trafohaus during Documenta 13, I found this scrap of paper in the 'Unification underpass'.
This machine produced packaging for the kind of medicines we all need, leaving a story behind it, why is it there ? who used it ? where is the rest of the packaging ? In this work I ask the viewer to look again and combine it with a poetic interpretation… of a dis-connected world where the embroidery has been let free, with roving cotton threads.
The combination of collage and thread, invite conversation about the connections and broken connections in this minimal art work.

Susie Wright is a London born artist and curator who lives and works in Germany. With environment at the heart of her practice, she uses a range of experimental processes to create her own personal iconography. Using her experience of place and landscape, she weaves concepts together into multi-layered collections. Works on paper, installation, painting and digital drawing, make up her portfolio.
