About this artwork

I found this paper object in the street when 'swalkeling' in London, I responded to it with an embroidery of networks and connectivity.
In this work, I explore this piece of recognisable packaging as an object out of its original context, exploring its form in a poetic essay of lines in space. This piece blends delicate embroidery with a reclaimed element to celebrate the story of a machine produced object and its place in the memory.
I wanted… to evoke a subtle connection between textures, inviting viewers to find beauty in everyday objects reimagined with care.
The minimal lines create a gentle rhythm, filling the space with thoughtful and understated energy while at the same time creating a conversation piece in the room it will inhabit.

Susie Wright is a London born artist and curator who lives and works in Germany. With environment at the heart of her practice, she uses a range of experimental processes to create her own personal iconography. Using her experience of place and landscape, she weaves concepts together into multi-layered collections. Works on paper, installation, painting and digital drawing, make up her portfolio.

Susie’s goal is to vibrantly engage the audience, provoking curiosity and a deep exploration of our psychological and social spaces. She addresses the tension between chance and self-determination, freedom and the individual, the passage of time and loss, climate change and the power of the Earth.
