About this artwork
I found this plastic object in the street when 'swalkeling' in London, I responded to it with an embroidery of networks and connectivity. The object is 'bat like' in its form, I titled it after the Pandemic, when research suggested the cornavirus could have mutated in bats.
In this work, I explore the object out of its original context and the elements that could have brought this machine produced piece into existence in a poetic essay of lines in… space.
My minimalistic approach invites quiet reflection and provides a simple aesthetic for a far more complex conversation piece.
It will spark curiosity and thoughtful pause in any setting.

Susie Wright is a London born artist and curator who lives and works in Germany. With environment at the heart of her practice, she uses a range of experimental processes to create her own personal iconography. Using her experience of place and landscape, she weaves concepts together into multi-layered collections. Works on paper, installation, painting and digital drawing, make up her portfolio.
