About this artwork
I have always had a fascination for the Flamenco dancing. I always though it to be strong provocative and sexy. I have seen different versions of paintings done of flamenco dancers .I studied different angles and images of various works that were done .So I arrived at a conclusion how I wanted my interpretation of how this great dance should be. . I decided it would leave a strong impression if I put a dance in the front with a powerful dress that…
represented the Flamenco dancer. with the other auxiliary dancers in the background and the Flamenco guitarist to the side . I felt the dark silhouetted back ground would put more focus on the dancers as well as the guitarist . I titled this piece Flamenca

Alan Reddick is a painter and sculptor who draws on a diverse self-taught background, shaped by observing masters like Seurat, Picasso, and Duchamp. He skillfully blends pointillism, cubism, and dynamic composition with his own distinctive motifs—floating musical instruments, geometric forms, and vivid hues of violet, orange, and indigo. His works radiate vibrancy and motion, passionately conveying the exuberance of music, the richness of nature, and the adventurous spirit of life. He is a graduate of Morehouse College with a degree in arts and communications . He has been in various galleries principally in the New York City area of both his sculptures and paintings .He has exhibited with such lauded artist as Romare Bearden Jacob Lawrance, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse , and Joan Miro.
