About this artwork
This is a painting of the great jazz trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie, Known for playing with Charlie Parker and Theloniuos Monk and being one of the founding fathers of BeBop. He led big bands that featured John Coltrane Jimmy Heath and Lee Morgan amongst others. He was featured on Stevie Wonders Song 'Do I do'. This painting was done in a cubist style which helped accentuate his cheeks when he played. This is titled 'Phases of Dizzy'

Alan Reddick is a painter and sculptor who draws on a diverse self-taught background, shaped by observing masters like Seurat, Picasso, and Duchamp. He skillfully blends pointillism, cubism, and dynamic composition with his own distinctive motifs—floating musical instruments, geometric forms, and vivid hues of violet, orange, and indigo. He is a graduate of Morehouse College with a degree in arts and communications . He has been in various galleries principally in the New York City area of both his sculptures and paintings .He has exhibited with such lauded artist as Romare Bearden Jacob Lawrance, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse , and Joan Miro.
