About this artwork
As I have mentioned in a few of these 'about artwork' I love painting musical instruments. Giving the effect that it's actually playing and you can hear the music.Some of these paintings develop over time to be some of my favorites . This being one of them. I have these instruments all going in one direction with saxophones tubas French horns and the slides from a trombone. I used a combination blue and red background with a fiery yellow that helps…
thrust the music in this upward motion. I titled this Tuba Slides to Connecting Reeds.

Alan Reddick is a painter and sculptor who draws on a diverse self-taught background, shaped by observing masters like Seurat, Picasso, and Duchamp. He skillfully blends pointillism, cubism, and dynamic composition with his own distinctive motifs—floating musical instruments, geometric forms, and vivid hues of violet, orange, and indigo. His works radiate vibrancy and motion, passionately conveying the exuberance of music, the richness of nature, and the adventurous spirit of life. He is a graduate of Morehouse College with a degree in arts and communications . He has been in various galleries principally in the New York City area of both his sculptures and paintings .He has exhibited with such lauded artist as Romare Bearden Jacob Lawrance, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse , and Joan Miro.
