The terracotta or bronze sculpture presents itself as an intricate complex of ascending geometric volumes, generated by sharp planes and taut surfaces, emerging from a solid, containment base. The composition develops along a simultaneously centripetal and centrifugal path. The inclined planes and vertical slits suggest an expansive movement that seems to spring outward from the heart of the work, like energy released by breaking the confines imposed… by the form. At the same time, one senses a collapse, a return of the material toward its original pyramidal core. It is a visual reflection on the life cycle of the world, the complexity of the opposing forces that govern both nature and human experience. The work does not represent an event but a process, a continuous becoming, in which every beginning is already transformation and every end contains within itself the possibility of a new birth.
Antonio Mastrorocco uses bronze, marble, terracotta, resin, wax, and oil on canvas, drawing on extensive training with great masters and decades of artistic teaching. He alternates figurative and abstract with masterful technique, favoring bas-relief and in-the-round, blending architecture, anatomy, and color in harmonious balance. Through dynamic forms, light, and passion, he conveys emotional depth and the message that art and culture can change how we view the world.
