This sculpture of mine presents a particularly successful synthesis between the solidity of tradition and contemporary formal experimentation. The figure of the horse—a classical subject, symbolically charged with energy, freedom, and nobility—is interpreted here through a geometric language that recalls both digital and low-poly aesthetics and the fragmentation of crystal or natural stone. The choice to work the surface in flat facets, interrupted… by clean lines, not only introduces a punctuated and dynamic visual rhythm, but also gives the work an almost architectural character. This interplay of geometries enhances the overall volume: the protruding and recessed areas capture the light, creating a shifting chiaroscuro pattern that holds the viewer's attention from every angle. The bronze effect amplifies the sculpture's impact. This dialogue between old and new is one of the work's strengths.
Antonio Mastrorocco uses bronze, marble, terracotta, resin, wax, and oil on canvas, drawing on extensive training with great masters and decades of artistic teaching. He alternates figurative and abstract with masterful technique, favoring bas-relief and in-the-round, blending architecture, anatomy, and color in harmonious balance. Through dynamic forms, light, and passion, he conveys emotional depth and the message that art and culture can change how we view the world.
