About this artwork
My sculpture, titled "Distensione," is made of terracotta, but can also be ordered in bronze; it is also available with full-surface gold leaf for a slight surcharge. The figure appears compact, except for the curved extension of one arm. The faceted surfaces and clean lines create a visual rhythm that guides the eye along the entire form, maintaining interest from multiple angles. The contrast between the more protruding and recessed parts lends…
depth and complexity, evoking tension. The gold finish amplifies the perception of light and highlights the texture and cuts; the sense of preciousness transforms the sculpture into an object that oscillates between icon and jewel. The arch that soars upward interacts with the compactness of the body, creating an alternative yet harmonious rhythm.
