I present the sculpture "Woman with a Tail" as a powerful synthesis of formal elegance, abstraction, and symbolic power. Crafted from polished and patinated bronze, the work combines smooth, reflective surfaces with more textured ones, creating a visual contrast that enhances the figure's three-dimensionality and dynamism. The head, with its stylized yet expressively intense lines, evokes a sense of introspection and regal power. The long, recurving… "tail" becomes an architectural element, almost a bridge between past and future, and simultaneously a symbol of feminine power and cultural memory. The luminous appearance of the face recalls Futurist or Industrial Deco aesthetics, while the pose and monumentality recall classical, Etruscan, and Egyptian iconography, suggesting an archetypal, timeless figure. The geometric shapes adopted are the parallelepiped, the pyramid, the cone, and the ovoid.
Antonio Mastrorocco uses bronze, marble, terracotta, resin, wax, and oil on canvas, drawing on extensive training with great masters and decades of artistic teaching. He alternates figurative and abstract with masterful technique, favoring bas-relief and in-the-round, blending architecture, anatomy, and color in harmonious balance. Through dynamic forms, light, and passion, he conveys emotional depth and the message that art and culture can change how we view the world.
