About this artwork
I conceived this sculpture with a vertical development, a truncated cone in polished bronze, which serves as an axis of stability. An organic, segmented, spiral-shaped element wraps around it, with a barely visible face, introducing movement, tension, and drama. The contrast between smooth surfaces and patinated material modeling creates a dialogue between geometric perfection and human fragility. The work evokes the image of a restless soul that,…
though constrained, reaches upward in a constant search for liberation and transcendence, appearing like a face with its wake. The polished, gilded bronze conveys preciousness, sacredness, and an almost "inviolable" dimension; the earthy tones, with green and brown veins of the modeling, instead recall nature, fragility, and the consuming power of time. An internal struggle between order and chaos, immobility and transformation, in the stubborn pursuit of a supreme purpose.
