The leopard is a very agile feline that relies on sprinting to capture its prey which is usually antelopes, gazelles, wildebeests or zebras, i.e. the herbivores of the savannah. Due to this agility and to the fact that it is much smaller than a lion or a tiger which cannot climb, the leopard has as its refuge the most robust branches of the trees where it can defend and eat its prey peacefully, in the shelter of the attacks by hyenas.
Given that… during the day the occupation of this feline, a nocturnal hunter, is to rest, this activity too (or rather inactivity) is practiced for safety on a tree. The author could therefore only represent his rest by placing him on a tree trunk, collected precisely for its shape, to which he has exactly adapted the position of the feline.
« In my design, there has always been an idea of three-dimensionality which then naturally became the design of three-dimensional objects. »
