About this artwork
The core of all panes was drilled out in order to avoid strong cracks when the wood dries. Since this work of art was created in 2011, the wood is already completely dry. This means that there are no further cracks.
So that the strong, red-brown color of the plum wood comes into its own, each tree slice was finely sanded… and oiled several times.
A cream-white lacquered, stable 3-layer spruce board, on which the panes are fixed with screws, serves as the carrier plate.
This art object is delivered including wall hooks and dowels for easy assembly.
All sculptures by Manfred Hellweger are unique.

« I have always been fascinated by abstracting the human body in order to depict it in a simple and elegant form. »
He is particularly known for his minimalist approach, in which he reduces forms to their essential elements.
Hellweger's work embodies the idea that nothing is permanent; everything evolves and changes. Each of his sculptures reflects a deep engagement with the materials and themes he explores.
Despite their simplicity, his works are deeply expressive and, by reducing them to the essentials, offer a metaphor for mindfulness and contentment.
