About this artwork
human nails VIII consists of many individual wire pins that have been connected to each other by targeted welding points, thus combining to form an abstracted human figure.
The wooden base comes from an old barn that was left to decay.
By carefully brushing the old wood, the artist has brought the lively grain of the larch wood back to light.
This gives the old piece of wood a new function and value.
The upper part of the sculpture was worked… with different tools and
the surface is sealed with a matt clear varnish to prevent the steel from oxidizing.
Dimensions of sculpture without wooden base: 100.5 x 17.5 x 6.5 cm
Dimensions steel plate: 27 x 27 x 0.8 cm
Total weight: 24.7 kg
