About this artwork
"Chris" was created in 2022 as part of my series "At the End of Green." Measuring 80 × 70 cm, a green-dominated picture surface unfolds, animated by light and dark glazes. These layers create depth, movement, and a subtle dynamic reminiscent of natural phenomena such as clouds or the shadow of a storm.
Like all the works in the series, this painting also bears a first name—"Chris." With this, I combine the abstract with something very human, making… nature and humanity directly tangible. The relief-like structure lends the painting an organic presence, which continually creates new impressions with the changing light and perspective.
For me, “Chris” is a picture full of energy that simultaneously radiates calm and contemplation.
