About this artwork
Martina (110 × 100 cm, 2022) is part of my series "At the End of Green." In this series, I explore the relationship between humans and nature by combining abstract color fields with organic traces.
For the base coat, I applied several layers of acrylic paint and incorporated leaves and branches. These traces remain visible even after sanding and sealing. On top, I apply fine layers of oil paint, which fill the image with depth and emphasize the… textures.
In Martina, green tones unfold in many nuances—from luminous light to dark and mysterious. The curved shapes remind me of clouds casting shadows as they pass by. Titles like "Martina" are deliberately chosen: Just as weather fronts have human names, my paintings also combine the abstract with something concrete and everyday.
For me, this image is an expression of the power, elegance, and fragility of nature—and of our own.
