Marie-Antoinette” – eroticism and extravagance of a century
With Marie-Antoinette, I reconnected with a fantasized part of myself, free and theatrical. I needed to exaggerate, to play with excess to escape the everyday.
Creating this piece reconnected me with my taste for baroque and extravagance.
An absolute fashion icon, Marie-Antoinette embodies for me all the exuberance and refinement of the 18th century.
This work reflects my fascination… with clothing for this era, which I feel is almost like a past life: silks, brocades, braid, trimmings, jewelry, cameos, gilding...
The bust is dressed in a suggestive corset, embellished with an openwork crinoline revealing a very suggestive and sensual velvet fabric on the lower back.
The base, treated as a decor in its own right, extends the “Sun King” universe with precious shoes and Versailles-inspired furniture.
