In my work, I wanted to blend myth, matter, and memory. Before my eyes, the timeless icon of the Jaguar E-Type takes shape, the car that symbolizes power and elegance, the undisputed protagonist of Diabolik's escapes and mysteries.
I began with meticulous research through yellowed pages and collections of black-and-white comics, patiently cutting out fragments of faces, glances, actions, and words. Each piece of paper holds a story, an emotion,… a moment frozen in the ink of time. I glued them together one by one, creating a mosaic of memories that becomes the vibrant foundation of the entire work.
The silhouette of the car stands out against this pulsating surface, crafted from blue steel, obtained from mechanical processing scraps. Waste material given new life, industrial material transformed into art, solidity meeting visual lightness. The effect is three-dimensional, shiny, almost alive: the reflection of the metal captures the light like a flicker of movement.
Silvana Di Vora, a self-taught artist, uses watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and scrap materials to create works brimming with light and movement. She experiments with figurative and abstract art, using rapid brushstrokes and intense monochromes, highlighting the three-dimensionality and luminosity of unexpected details. Her works, often melancholic and dynamic, convey that even from darkness, the most intense light and vibrant color can emerge, instilling vitality and hope in the viewer.
