I created a moon with scraps from mechanical processes and marble dust, transforming industrial residues into a celestial surface. Working with found materials, I sought to preserve their memory: the metal retains the scratch, the marble dust retains the dust from the quarries. The result is a skin that alternates rough grain and cool reflections, a topography made of small scars and sediments that invite the gaze to touch.
This moon is born from… my dreams and my emotions: every grain contains a fragment of time, every sign is a feeling made visible. Working with such diverse materials has allowed me to explore vulnerability as beauty; the fragility of dust alongside the hardness of metal creates a tension that speaks of fragility and resistance. I invite the viewer to pause, draw closer, and perceive the material as a story: every scrap, every dust is a piece of history.
Silvana Di Vora, a self-taught artist, uses watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and scrap materials to create works brimming with light and movement. She experiments with figurative and abstract art, using rapid brushstrokes and intense monochromes, highlighting the three-dimensionality and luminosity of unexpected details. Her works, often melancholic and dynamic, convey that even from darkness, the most intense light and vibrant color can emerge, instilling vitality and hope in the viewer.
