About this artwork
It's Halloween night and two young women are going to a club to celebrate. To prepare, they are here in the club's washroom. One of them has fairy lights in her hair, the other is taking a photo with her smartphone camera. This way, the viewer sees the woman on the left from two sides.
The picture captures the atmosphere of the room and the anticipation: the ostentatious frame of the mirror, the posters, stickers and graffiti, everything fits together… as if you were there yourself.
The picture celebrates the successful staging of the young women and the anticipation of dancing and partying. The lighting conditions and choice of colors are crucial for the mood of the picture. The picture was painted on a primed MDF board in oil paint. It is framed in a matt black wooden frame.
