About this artwork
With human flow AEGIR, the artist creates a symbol of diversity, change and renewal.
From leftover pieces of eleven different wood species—maple, oak, spruce, cherry, pine, larch, linden, mahogany, copper beech, walnut, and Swiss stone pine—he forms an abstract human figure. The vertically arranged strips are reminiscent of a flowing stream and lend the figure an organic dynamism.
The use of leftover wood is a conscious statement of transformation… and sustainability: obsolete material is given new life and becomes something whole. The multifaceted material composition reflects the diversity and, at the same time, the interconnectedness of human existence.
Thus, the sculpture appears both grounded and in motion – a human flow that reinterprets constant change and becoming.
