About this artwork
I present the Passion sculpture as an intense plastic dialogue between two bodies fused into a single block of material, charged with emotional tension. Made of partially glazed terracotta, the work alternates matte and shiny, warm and cold surfaces, accentuating the internal dynamic that pervades it. The material, crafted with incisive and gestural marks, retains the memory of manual modeling: scratches, incisions, and cracks are not imperfections,…
but expressive traces, wounds that become language like veins pulsing beneath the skin of the form. The two figures, partly recognizable and partly dissolved, seem to emerge and merge simultaneously. The main face, turned upward, evokes a sense of abandonment, spiritual exploration, eros, pathos, union and loss, life and matter. The sheen intervenes as an inner light, an emotional reverberation that animates the terracotta.
