About this artwork
The symbolism of this work is inspired by the spiritual meaning of Bonsai. The delicacy of oriental art and the thoroughness of hyperrealism come together to invoke a moment of ethereal harmony. I have captured an ephemeral moment where two hummingbirds feast on the nectar of red flowers. I wanted the natural texture and color properties of the wood grain to form an integral part of the pictorial composition. The hummingbirds, with their iridescent…
