About this artwork
The work “human cubes WALL 144” consists of over 144 cubes made of maple and walnut wood.
Each individual cube was sawn to size by Manfred Hellweger, the edges were sanded and connected to the next cube using beechwood dowels, glue and clamps. A 1mm thick stainless steel cable is used to hang the sculpture in the steel frame.
Similar to the sculpture series “human flow” or “human nails”, Hellweger creates a whole from many individual parts. Each… cube represents a thought, an emotion or a feeling in a person’s life.
The steel frame has been waxed and polished to prevent oxidation. It has two hangers on the back for easy wall mounting.
Delivery includes screws and dowels.
Dimensions steel frame: 166 x 66 x 10 cm
Dimensions sculpture: 121 x 22.6 x 14.5 cm
Total weight of the artwork: 20.6 kg
