About this artwork
All cubes were arranged in a spiral shape and glued together using a complex process.
The spiral is a symbol of meditation.
It shows the path of internalization and is also an original universal symbol of all cultures. It means the unity of nature and spirit. We find the spiral as a principle in many phenomena of creation.
In the macrocosm it is present from the planetary… orbit through the spiral nebula to the galaxy.
The same applies in the microcosm, from the movement of atoms and molecules to the snail shell.
Water swirls in spirals just like air and clouds.
The surface of the sculpture is finely sanded and treated with hard wax oil.
All sculptures by Manfred Hellweger are unique.

« I have always been fascinated by abstracting the human body in order to depict it in a simple and elegant form. »
He is particularly known for his minimalist approach, in which he reduces forms to their essential elements.
Hellweger's work embodies the idea that nothing is permanent; everything evolves and changes. Each of his sculptures reflects a deep engagement with the materials and themes he explores.
Despite their simplicity, his works are deeply expressive and, by reducing them to the essentials, offer a metaphor for mindfulness and contentment.
