About this artwork
human nails VII consists of many individual wire pins that have been connected to each other by targeted welding points, thus combining to form an abstracted human figure.
The wooden base comes from an old barn that had been left to decay. The artist cleaned it, brushed it and treated it with translucent white oil.
This gives the old piece of wood a new function and value.
The upper part of the sculpture was worked with different tools and
… the surface is sealed with a matt clear varnish to prevent the steel from oxidizing.
