A Moon born from the reconversion of mechanical processing waste, pigments, and marble dust onto canvas with an acrylic primer. I layered shavings, oils, and dust, fixing them with binders and resins, creating a textured, rough surface in rusty, brown, and black tones, illuminated by the marble dust. The work recalls a small planet or the Earth's crust: a landscape of wear and tear that transforms waste into value. An invitation to slowly observe… the textures and reliefs; it is a silent monument to the memory and fragility of materials. From a practical standpoint, I sealed the material to stabilize it and preserve the contrast between the raw and the restrained; yet its composite nature always retains some of its original fragility. For me, this canvas is a small monument to what is thought to be worthless, transformed into a testimony.
Silvana Di Vora, a self-taught artist, uses watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and scrap materials to create works brimming with light and movement. She experiments with figurative and abstract art, using rapid brushstrokes and intense monochromes, highlighting the three-dimensionality and luminosity of unexpected details. Her works, often melancholic and dynamic, convey that even from darkness, the most intense light and vibrant color can emerge, instilling vitality and hope in the viewer.
