This is a painting of the musical genius Thelonious Monk. One of the greatest pianist of the twentieth century. His tunes have been played by so many other musicians . Some of the most popular being Monks Mood, Well you Needn't Around Midnight and so many others. Most musicians that played with him. would look at the music and find it incredibly difficult to play. Yet once they got the hang of it, it was some of the most beautiful music you could… imagine. I did this painting in a cubist form because that is what Monks music remind me of. Sometimes what sounded like off keys ,notes that sounded like they were in-between notes yet a sound so unique and so much his. I titled this painting The Many Moods Of Monk looking at it you can probably see why.
