James Brown has long and stories history as being one of the greater entertainers of the 20th century. He rose to prominence in the mid 1950s as the lead singer of a group called 'The Famous Flames', with its hit at the time called Please Please Please. In the 1960s he would travel around with his back up band know as the James Brown Orchestra . He would travel from city to city doing exhausting performances which coined him the name the hardest… working man in show business. His fame continued into to the 1970s with movie soundtracks and bookings for venues all over the world. In the late 1980s he was arrested in his home state of South Carolina for evading police and drug charges. where he spent almost two years in jail. after parole he continues to perform up until his death in 2006 . He was know in the later part of his career as the God Father of Soul ,so I decided to title this painting The God Father.
Alan Reddick is a painter and sculptor who draws on a diverse self-taught background, shaped by observing masters like Seurat, Picasso, and Duchamp. He skillfully blends pointillism, cubism, and dynamic composition with his own distinctive motifs—floating musical instruments, geometric forms, and vivid hues of violet, orange, and indigo. His works radiate vibrancy and motion, passionately conveying the exuberance of music, the richness of nature, and the adventurous spirit of life. He is a graduate of Morehouse College with a degree in arts and communications . He has been in various galleries principally in the New York City area of both his sculptures and paintings .He has exhibited with such lauded artist as Romare Bearden Jacob Lawrance, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse , and Joan Miro.
