About this artwork
This rust patinaed and variegated paint surfaced mask made from recycled car parts and a shovel began with the blades of a torque converter. Jeff works be response and in this case he responded to the curves in the metaL blades using them to form the eyes. A torque converter shell was manipulated to form much of the rest of the face. Part of a recycled shovel blade was added. The rusted surface pattern was created by using a welder improperly and…
creating dots of metal. The artist's initial response to these car parts lead to this urban and tribal mask's final form.
