About this artwork
Output 6 belongs to my series "Smear Board", in which I work with preparation, control, speed and randomness.
A large, dark field of gray, muted green, and violet dominates the image. Traces of turquoise, pink, orange, and yellow remain visible at the edges and beneath the darker layers. This makes the work appear more restrained and dense than many of his more intensely colored outputs.
The preparation takes considerably longer than the actual… painting, which happens within a few minutes. With the title "Output," I'm addressing the logic of input, processing, and result, as we know it from digital systems and artificial intelligence. I'm transferring this principle to an analog painting process, where color, movement, and spontaneous decisions all contribute to the outcome.
