Flower V belongs to the series "Smear Board," in which I explore familiar symbols and the loss of their self-evidence. The flower is one of the most universal symbols for beauty, growth, and harmony.
The form remains clearly recognizable, but its order begins to shift. Layers of color overlap, corrections remain visible, and individual areas appear open or unfinished. What initially seems simple develops its own dynamic.
I am interested in the… moment when a familiar symbol loses its unambiguous meaning. The flower remains a flower, but its meaning becomes more open and multifaceted.
Between symbolic imagery and expressive oil painting, Blume V reflects the fragility of seemingly firm certainties and the beauty of imperfection.
