LADAKH
In the Ladakh series, color becomes air, gesture becomes prayer. Each canvas rises from the language of abstract expressionism, where emotion replaces representation and matter turns luminous. Sweeping palette knife movements evoke the high-altitude vastness of the Himalayas — places where silence expands, and the wind itself feels sacred. After moving from Asia back to Europe and a long maternity leave, I'm finally back, painting in a gorgeous new art studio, nestled in a 13th century castle with medieval towers in the South Of France. Delphine Bernard is an artist based in France whose paintings have been widely exhibited in Singapore and Indonesia. She compares each of her compositions as being like a vision or a dream and characterizes her artistic process to being "shamanistic". Bernard creates intuitively, allowing her hands to "dance and play" with colors on the canvas. Her vibrant compositions are created using acrylics on canvas.
